The 1st National Career Counseling Symposium was hosted by TED University!

TED University hosted The 1st National Career Counseling Symposium, which was held for the first time in our country. The attention to the symposium that organized in cooperation with TED University and the Turkish Psychological Counseling and Guidance Association on February 27, 2021, was intense. The symposium, with thousands of participants from more than a hundred universities, was also broadcast live on YouTube.

The opening session and speeches were made by TEDU Rector Prof. Belgin Ayvaşık, Vice Rector Prof. Oya Yerin-Güneri, Dean of the Faculty of Education Prof. Yüksel Kavak, Head of Educational Sciences Department Prof. Nilüfer Voltan Acar, as well as the President of the Turkish PDR Association, Exp. Psy. Coun. Oğuz Özat, Press and Broadcasting General Secretary Prof. Erdal Hamarta and T.C. Presidency Human Resources Office, Head of Education and Development Department Dr. Savaş Ceylan's participation.

The moderators of the symposium, which consists of three sessions, was contributed by 14 faculty members and practitioners from 11 universities, were Prof.Dr. Binnur Yeşilyaprak, Prof. Dr. Fidan Korkut Owen and TEDU Department of Educational Sciences Vice Chair Dr. Olcay Yılmaz. The symposium was presented by TEDU Educational Sciences Department Research Assistant Nergis Hazal Yılmaztürk.

In the first session of the symposium, "Discovering Career Counseling", career counseling practices were explained; session 2 "Implementing the Career Counseling" sign in the world and in Turkey, career counseling applications / examples / models were imported. In the last session "Reshaping Career Counseling", current issues, practices, problems, opportunities with a future projected perspective was held via focusing on future implications on COVID 19 and career development, technology and IT usage within career counseling.
