Catalog Description
Using field-specific instructional technologies; types of software and purposes of their use; principles of design and development of materials to be used in teaching of the field; determination of material needs; designing two and three dimensional teaching materials; worksheets; slides; development of teaching materials such as VCD, DVD, MP3 and MP4 files etc.; evaluation of classroom applications done by using different teaching materials.
Course Objectives
This course aims to equip students with the knowledge of selecting, adapting and designing materials used in English language teaching settings by focusing on the review of selected updated research in the field and allowing students designing materials for the teaching of different English language skills.

At the end of this class, students will be able to:
1) Conceptualize basic methods of evaluating language teaching materials and adaptation techniques
2) Review selected current research that discusses the design of language teaching materials
3) Evaluate current instructional technologies and computer applications in language teaching/learning.
4) Select different materials and technologies into classrooms for teaching language skills.
5) Develop their own teaching materials.
