Catalog Description
Application of macroeconomic theory to current policy issues. Use of analytical tools to understand macroeconomy. Response of policy makers to macroeconomic issues. Unemployment and inflation. Adaptive and rational expectations. Policy effectiveness under rational expectations. Independency of central bank. Growth theory.
Course Objectives
The aim of this course is to introduce students the use of analytical tools of macroeconomy. Students would understand the response of policy makers to macroeconomic issues and expectations. Students are encouraged to use their knowledge of macroeconomic theory to gain a better understanding of current macroeconomic events and issues.
Software Usage
Students will use MS Office applications (Word, Excel, Access, Power point) to work on their weekly assignments about 2 hours a week.
