Catalog Description
Growth and developments in Turkey and the World since Industrial Revolution. Application of economic analysis to historical issues. Great Depression. The interwar period. The Bretton Woods System and its collapse. The collapse of communism. Turkish economy during the Great Depression and thereafter.
Course Objectives

The aim of this course is to introduce students history of Turkey and the World economy since the industrial revolution. Students would understand growth patterns and developments of economy in Turkey and in the World in the 20th century.

Software Usage
Students will use MS Office applications (Word, Excel, Access) to work on their weekly assignments about 2 hours a week.
Course Learning Outcomes

Upon succesful completion of this course, a student will be able to
1. Clarify the impacts of industrial revolution on the World economy. [
2. Identify the impacts and reasons of great depression. 
3. List the reasons why Bretton Woods system collapsed. 
4. Compare the developments in Turkish Economy with other economies in the world.
5. Construct a timeline of significant events in the World economies history in the 20th century.
