Catalog Description
Observation in early childhood education programs. Observation of child development and learning. Power, process, and ethics of observation. Observation and documentation techniques and tools. (The language of instruction in this course is both Turkish and English.)
Course Learning Outcomes
Upon succesful completion of this course, a student will be able to
1. propose an observation scheme to assess young children’s development and learning
2. integrate ethical perspectives and practices in observing and recording young children’s interactions in early childhood settings
3. compare early programs that offer early childhood services
4. evaluate early childhood learning environments outline a profile of young children by age group
5. outline a profile of young children by age group
6. interpret learning experiences that are offered to young children in variety of early childhood settings
