This course aims to introduce the fundamentals of the signals, linear time-invariant systems, and Fourier transform of the signals.
Continuous-time and discrete-time signals and systems, Linear time-invariant systems: impulse response, convolution, Fourier series, Continuous-time Fourier transform, Discrete-time Fourier transform, Sampling theory, and z-transform.
Having successfully completed this course, students will be able to:
LO-1: Define continuous-time and discrete-time signals and systems.
LO-2: Identify linear time-invariant systems.
LO-3: Calculate impulse response of a system and perform convolution.
LO-4: Apply Fourier series analysis to periodic signals.
LO-5: Obtain continuous-time (CT) Fourier transform of a CT signal.
LO-6: Obtain discrete-time (DT) Fourier transform of a DT signal.
LO-7: Express the sampling theory.
LO-8: Calculate z-transform.
