Videotaping and transcription of clients - 15% 
At least 40 clock hours of supervised field practice - 40% 
At least one hour per week of individual supervision - 30%

Upon succesful completion of this course, a student will be able to
1. Apply individual counseling skills and competencies such as: a. Opening and closing an interview b. Responding effectively to needs of clients c. Setting outcome goals with clients d. Planning change strategies with clients 
2. develop and practice intake skills, including data collection and initial assessment
3. interpret personality theories of counseling and apply them into their field practice
4. receive and respond supervision on issues related to client and interpersonal issues
5. formulate a treatment and evaluation plan
6. follow the ethical guidelines
7. experience counseling sessions as a candidate of counselor
