The course provides knowledge on building technologies and materials used in buildings. Effects of environmental forces and performances of built structures, structural and service systems and building materials are put under detailed analysis.
Upon succesful completion of this course, a student will be able to
1. learn how to analyze different construction systems, structural behaviors of building materials and environmental forces that affect the construction methodologies and building materials
2. are able to differentiate and compare physical and mechanical properties of different building materials
3. have analyzed new materials, their behaviors, construction technologies and application methods
4. be able to represent and draw detailed application plan for architectural projects
