Ali Somel

Ali Somel graduated from the Department of Political Science and Public Administration at METU in 2003. He completed his master's degree in Political Science and his doctorate in Administrative Sciences at Ankara University. His master's thesis was published as a book under the title of The Forum Journal Marking the Discussion on Etatism and Planning. His dissertation entitled "The Transformation of Expropriation: The Development of Expropriation on Behalf of Private Benefit and Its Reflections on Public Policy in Turkey'' was awarded the Young Social Scientists Award of the Turkish Social Sciences Association (TSBD) in 2013. Working at the Department of Political Science and Public Administration at Ondokuz Mayıs University, Somel continues his research on planning, expropriation and development policy.
