When did TED University open?

TED University was established in Ankara by the Turkish Education Association Higher Education Foundation with the Law on the Amendment of the Law on the Organization of Higher Education Institutions (Law No. 5913) published in the Official Gazette dated 7.07.2009 and numbered 27281. It is a young, dynamic and contemporary city university established in Ankara in 2009 with the 96 years of experience of the Turkish Education Association in the field of education.

Security at TED University campus and dormitories is provided 24/7 by private security guards.

Can I visit the university campus?

During the open-house period in summers, you can visit our campus between 10:00-17:30, including weekends, without an appointment and get detailed information about TED University. At other times, you may make an appointment by calling +90 (312) 585 03 06.

Is English the language of instruction in all programs?

The language of instruction at TED University is 100% English in all undergraduate and graduate programs except for the Master's Program in Educational Institutions Management.

What are the equivalence and advantages of the undergraduate diploma and Higher Nationals Certificate (HNC) and Higher Nationals Diploma (HND) from TED University abroad?

*Diploma Supplement : It is the document given with the diploma to all students who graduate from TEDU undergraduate programs. It is a document designed to provide information about diplomas and degrees in the field of higher education in Europe in a "common and universally understandable format". This document, which is given in addition to the diploma, helps the relevant institutions and organizations in the recognition of diplomas and degrees obtained from outside the country in order to reinforce international transparency. The diploma supplement we have already issued is valid in 47 countries included in the Bolonga process. Click here for detailed information.

*Higher Nationals Certificate (HNC) and Higher Nationals Diploma (HND) certificate: All undergraduate students can apply for this certificate. Students who complete the program and qualify for a certificate can study for an additional year to obtain a second bachelor's degree in Business Administration from a university in the UK.

It is also recognized by more than 500 elite universities, companies and institutions around the world, especially in the UK and the USA. Students who successfully complete the HND in Business program may have the opportunity to obtain a second bachelor's degree from these universities, subject to admission and success in additional courses in their curriculum. In line with TED University's mission to integrate theoretical knowledge with practical skills, the HND in Business offers a great opportunity to certify competitive skills in problem solving, commercial, independent, interpersonal and business areas. Dormitories

Is there a dormitory at TED University?

TED University has dormitory facilities.

Our university has a "TEDU Male Student Dormitory" with a capacity of 93 beds and a "TEDU Female Student Dormitory" with a capacity of 392 beds. The placement of the students who will stay in the dormitories is made by the Dormitory Directorate.

Sports Center

Does TED University have sports facilities?

Students can use the semi-Olympic swimming pool, multi-purpose indoor gymnasium and fitness center on the TEDU campus during the specified hours on weekdays and weekends. In addition, group and private lessons are offered in our facilities with our expert staff.

TEDU students can also benefit from the TED Ankara College İncek Campus, where they can take regular shuttles to the stadium and other outdoor sports fields.

Health Center

Does TED University have health services?

TED University students can apply to the Health Center located on the TED University campus for free medical examination and first aid services in case of any health problems.

Health services at our university are provided by a doctor and a nurse working full-time at the Health Center.

When TED University members apply for health problems, the first examination and treatment services are provided at our Health Center, and in cases requiring further examination and treatment, they are directed to health institutions in accordance with their social security. In emergency cases, referral to the hospital is provided after first aid is completed.

In addition to diagnosis and treatment services, our Health Center also provides health counseling services.

Food / Beverage Facilities

Does TED University have food and beverage facilities?

While there are a variety of facilities within our campus, our students can also meet their needs from the vending machines located on campus. Additionally, thanks to its location, our university is within easy reach of many food and beverage facilities around the campus.

Library

What are the features of TED University Ayşe Ilıcak Library?

TED University Ayşe Ilıcak Library provides services at international standards through its collection of printed books, electronic books, electronic journals, printed journals and interactive databases. With its young and dynamic staff, it serves both in Block B and Block D on campus with its innovative library approach that evolves every year. Our library, which is rapidly progressing towards becoming the library of the city, serves the public with Ankara's first and only external user acceptance feature. During the academic year, the Library is open for 98 hours a week and the study hall is available 24/7 for the benefit of all TED University members. TED University members are natural members of our Library and can start to make use of our Library from the first moment they step on campus. Over 15,000 researchers, students and external users visit our library every month.

What are the library opening hours?

During acamedic semesters, TED University Ayşe Ilıcak Library is open as follows:

Block B

Weekdays: 09:00-18:00

Weekends CLOSED

D Block

It is open between 09:00-23:00 on weekdays and weekends.

There is a 24/7 open study hall in our Library located in Block D.

The working hours outside of academic semesters are as follows:

International Programs Office

Which exchange programs are offered at TED University? What are the application requirements?

Within the scope of Erasmus+ Higher Education Learning and Internship Mobility, students who have completed the first semester of their programs can study at universities in EU member states with which TED University has a bilateral agreement for one semester or one academic year and/or do internships in enterprises abroad related to the field of study. Selection for student study and internship mobility is based on "overall academic average" and "Erasmus+ English Language Test". While calculating the scores, the formula "50% General Academic Average and 50% Language Grade" is used.

Within the scope of the Erasmus+ Higher Education program, Academic and Administrative Staff can also carry out teaching and training activities for a maximum of 7 days, including travel.

Which exams can international students take to apply for undergraduate education at TED University? Is there a separate exam for international students? How to apply?

For international students to apply to undergraduate programs, more than 80 countries, diploma grades, university entrance exams or internationally recognized exams and education programs such as SAT, GCE, IB, etc., which are reported to the Presidency of Higher Education every year, are taken into consideration.

TED University does not conduct a separate exam for international student applications and YÖS exams conducted by other universities in Turkey are not taken into consideration.

International students apply to undergraduate programs free of charge through the online application form at https://ipo.tedu.edu.tr/. 

Which exams can international students use to apply for graduate programs at TED University?

International students are required to meet the application and admission criteria of the relevant program, document their English proficiency with valid exams such as TOEFL or TEDU EPE, and submit one of the GRE/GMAT exams, if required, among the application criteria.

Career Center

What does TED University Career Center do?

TED University Career Center helps our students to get to know the business environment by having direct contact with the business world before graduation and thus to make an easier transition to professional life after graduation.

TEDU Career Center supports our students to use their knowledge, talents and skills to consciously evaluate the options they will encounter in their career choice and/or higher education plans, to get to know themselves and their personality traits in order to identify their areas of interest and thus to set the right career goals.

TEDU Career Center conducts simulation rehearsals in Turkish and English for our students to prepare their resumes and cover letters and to develop interview techniques; provides consultancy services and trainings on how to express themselves correctly.

It works on creating full-time, part-time, short-term life learning internship and compulsory internship opportunities for our students and graduates.

By bringing them together with role models, it enables our students to see the visions that will create awareness for their career goals.

It introduces our students to sectors, companies and various scholarship opportunities by organizing informative seminars, trainings and interviews.

It organizes Career and Job Fairs to offer internship and job opportunities, and brings employers, students and graduates together to communicate.

WanTED Career and Job Fair

TED University Career Center organizes "WanTED Career and Job Fair" in March every year, bringing our students and graduates together with Turkey's leading brands in a distinctive environment.

At the WanTED Career and Job Fair, our students and graduates communicate with the leading brands of the sectors, get to know the companies and sectors closely, learn about how their education is shaped in the sector, learn the conditions of being a part of the companies, and learn about career and internship opportunities in the career courses, workshops and fair area organized simultaneously.

At the same time, our students and graduates can communicate with brands in interview rooms and participate in group or scheduled interviews organized by companies for potential job and internship positions.

Does TED University Career Center help students who will do internships?

TED University Career Center assists students who are looking for an internship and cannot find a place within the companies with which we have an internship agreement.

Teaching and Learning Center

What does TED University Teaching and Learning Center offer to students?

TED University Teaching and Learning Center, which aims to support the implementation of teaching methods and techniques required by the student and learning-oriented education-teaching approach at our university and to ensure that our students learn more effectively and permanently, offers three main services to our students: Mentoring, Peer Support (tutoring) and TEDU400 Student Development Seminars.

What kind of events and seminars are organized at TED University Teaching and Learning Center?

TEDU400 Student Development Seminars

The development seminars, which bring together academics, scientists, researchers and experts from different universities from Turkey and abroad, as well as pioneers such as writers, artists, journalists and managers who make a difference in their fields, with our students, aim to support the academic and personal development of our students. Detailed information about the seminars, which continue throughout the academic year, is announced to our students via our website and e-mail.

Mentoring Program

The Mentor Support Program is designed to support our newly enrolled students in their adaptation process to TEDU. The program is carried out under the guidance of our mentors selected from among our 2nd, 3rd or 4th year students at TEDU and lasts for one academic year. Within the scope of the program, our prep class and first year students are provided with guidance about being a TEDU student, life on TEDU campus, TEDU student support services and the systems used at TEDU such as moodle, portal, etc.

Peer Support Program (Tutoring)

The Peer Support Program operates to provide academic support to our students in undergraduate courses such as mathematics, physics, economics, etc. This support is provided one-on-one or in small groups by our scholarship students who have been successful in these courses. Students who receive support within the scope of the program have the opportunity to overcome their knowledge and practical deficiencies, actively participate in learning and receive immediate feedback on their work. Our students who provide support have the opportunity to prepare appropriate materials for students at different levels, plan activities, communicate with students, give feedback to students and improve their teaching skills.
