Dr. Deniz Demiryürek was born in Ankara, Turkey, in 1970. He graduated from T.E.D. Ankara College in 1987 and from Ankara University Faculty of Medicine in 1994. He began his doctorate at Hacettepe University Faculty of Medicine, Department of Anatomy in 1996 and completed his thesis, “MR Imaging Determination of the Normal Level of Conus Medullaris,” in 1999.

Following his military service, Dr. Demiryürek joined Hacettepe University as an Instructor in the Department of Anatomy in 2000. He earned his associate professorship in 2004 and professorship in 2010. Since 2019, he has been serving as the Head of the Department of Anatomy and also leads the Mesotherapy and Acupuncture Unit at Hacettepe University Hospitals.

Dr. Demiryürek has 36 international publications, 160 presentations at international congresses, and 360 citations in indexed international scientific journals. He has received one international scientific award. His main areas of interest include clinical anatomy, infective agents in preserved human cadavers, computer-aided three-dimensional reconstruction techniques, mesotherapy, and acupuncture.
