Prof. O. Celal Göle

Prof. Dr. Göle was born in 1948 in the United States. After completing his secondary education at TED Ankara College, he graduated from the Faculty of Law at Ankara University in 1969.

He began his professional career in 1970 as a Research Assistant in Commercial Law at the Faculty of Political Sciences, Ankara University. He completed his legal internship in 1971 and earned the title of Doctor of Law in 1975. In the same year, he fulfilled his military service as a reserve officer. Between 1976 and 1978, he conducted research for his associate professorship thesis at Indiana University School of Law, USA. He was promoted to Associate Professor in 1982 and to Full Professor on April 11, 1989.

Prof. Göle has taught Commercial Law courses at Ankara University’s Faculty of Political Sciences, Dicle University Faculty of Law (1985–1986), Bilkent University Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences (1991–1993), and Middle East Technical University Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences (1983–2012). Between 1989 and 1991, he served as Legal Advisor to the General Manager at Turkey Iron and Steel Enterprises. He held the positions of Vice Dean (1989–1993) and Dean (1993–2012) at the Faculty of Political Sciences.

In addition to his academic work, Prof. Göle has been active in civil society and professional organizations. He served as President of Ankara Tennis Club (1993–1996), Chairman of the Board of the Turkish Tennis Promotion Foundation (TÜTEGEV, 1996–1997), and has been a Board Member of the ODTÜ Development Foundation, TED Ankara College Foundation, and Ankara University Development Foundation since 1983. He also served on the Board of the Turkey Fulbright Commission (1999–2004) and as a member of the Board of Trustees of Kyrgyzstan-Turkey Manas University (2005–2010). Additionally, he was a member of the Press Advertisement Agency Audit Board (2007–2009) and the Board of Directors (2009–2013).

Prof. Göle is currently Head of the Department of Commercial Law at Ankara University Faculty of Political Sciences. He also teaches at Ankara University Faculty of Law (Graduate and Doctoral Programs) and at Eastern Mediterranean University Faculty of Law, Northern Cyprus. He serves on the boards of TED University Higher Education Foundation, Ankara Tennis Club, and the Honorary Board of TED Ankara College Alumni Association.

He has published numerous books and articles in the field of Commercial Law.
