Berkay Orhaner

Berkay Orhaner received his BS (2008) and MS (2013) degrees in Sociology from Middle East Technical University and PhD degree (2019) in Sociology from Hacettepe University.

He was granted the Danish Government Scholarship (2015) and he visited the Department of Sociology, University of Copenhagen as a guest PhD fellow for an academic year. He continued his postdoctoral research at George Washington University Business School in 2023.

Berkay has performed various tasks at the United Nations Global Compact Office, Corporate Social Responsibility Association of Turkey, Yuksel Holding, TOBB Education and Technology University and Hacettepe University. He undertook the duties of Strategy Development Coordinator at the Turkish Education Association and Advisor to the Rector at TED University.

He has given lectures on the concept of corporate responsibility since 2015 and contributed to various publications on the subject. 

His books “Kurumsal Sorumluluk" (Corporate Responsibility) was published by Remzi Kitabevi in 2025, “Rochester'daki Türkler" (Turks in Rochester) was published by Doğu Kitabevi in 2017, and his translation of the book “Children and Play in the Holocaust” (Tr: Soykırım Yıllarında Çocuklar ve Oyun) was published by Phoenix Kitabevi in 2014.
