Web Accessibility Statement

Last updated: 03 May 2026

1. Introduction

TED University is committed to ensuring that its websites and digital services are accessible to all users. In this context, the accessibility of the University’s web content is continuously improved in line with international standards and national regulations.

This statement has been prepared to cover the main TED University website (www.tedu.edu.tr), as well as subdomains that share the same content management system (CMS) infrastructure.

2. Compliance with Standards

TED University websites are developed and maintained with the objective of complying with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 Level A.

  • Full compliance with WCAG 2.2 Level A is targeted by the end of 2026.
  • Transition to WCAG 2.2 Level AA is targeted by the end of 2027.

3. Compliance Status

TED University websites are partially compliant with accessibility standards.

While many technical accessibility issues have been resolved through improvements to the web infrastructure, efforts are ongoing to address certain content-related limitations.

4. Known Accessibility Limitations

The following are identified as current accessibility limitations:

  • Some images on certain pages may lack alternative text (alt text). Comprehensive efforts are ongoing to address these gaps.
  • Some PDF documents may not fully comply with accessibility standards (e.g., scanned documents or files without selectable text).
  • As content is managed by multiple units, newly added content may not always fully comply with accessibility standards.
  • Although forms and interactive components are generally accessible, partial inconsistencies may occur in newly created content.
  • Significant improvements have been made regarding keyboard accessibility; however, minor inconsistencies may still occur across different pages and components.
  • Third-party applications whose source code is not under the control of the University (such as chatbot systems) may include accessibility limitations.

TED University continues to work on addressing these limitations through ongoing improvements.

5. Evaluation and Testing Process

The accessibility of the websites is evaluated using the following methods:

  • Automated testing tools (WAVE, Lighthouse)
  • Manual accessibility testing
  • User testing with individuals with disabilities (planned)

Based on the findings, improvement actions are planned and implemented accordingly.

6. Continuous Improvement

TED University considers accessibility as an ongoing process requiring continuous development. In this regard:

  • Accessibility guidelines are prepared and shared with web editors
  • Existing content is continuously improved in terms of accessibility
  • Compliance with accessibility standards is encouraged in the creation of new content
