AEROTED UAV TEAM PARTICIPATED IN THE INTERNATIONAL UAV COMPETITION FINALS
Our AeroTED Fixed Wing UAV Team have participated in the 5th International Unmanned Aerial Vehicle Competition held within TEKNOFEST Aviation, Space and Technology Festival in Lake Alleben, Gaziantep between September 15th – 20th, 2020. AeroTED teams’s aircraft Te.D-06 has successfully passed the technical inspection on the first day of the competition. However, serious incidents occurred during the subsequent stage of preparation and test flight. After resolving these issues, our team succeeded to put the aircraft on the runway to accomplish the first task on the last day of the competition and three sorties have been flown. Our aircraft had accomplished the first round, and it has been disqualified in the second round due to violation of the competition rules; however the aircraft succeeded to land in one piece. After the flight, Prof. Dr. Hasan Mandal, President of TÜBİTAK, has taken an interest in our aircraft and flown the Te.D-06.
