Mert Alperten

Mert Alperten completed his B.Sc. in Metallurgical and Materials Engineering at Middle East
Technical University (METU) and subsequently earned an M.Sc. in Engineering Management at
METU. In 2022, he received his M.A. in Sound Engineering from Istanbul Technical University’s
Center For Advanced Studies In Music (ITU MIAM). In his master’s thesis, he investigated the use
of the deconvolution technique to remove environmental factors from recordings and discussed
potential applications of the method. He is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Sound Engineering at ITU
MIAM.

Alperten works as a freelance professional in recording, mixing, mastering, sound design, and live
sound. He has previously worked as a visiting lecturer at Beykoz University. He is also a musician
who produces and releases music through his own projects and the bands he is involved with.
