Müge A. Gencer

After completing her undergraduate studies at Middle East Technical University, she began her academic career as an instructor at the School of English Language, Bilkent University. Committed to continuous professional growth in teacher education, learning and teaching, management, and academic leadership, she participated in diploma and certificate programs offered by University of Cambridge (UCLES). She later completed her MA in TEFL at Bilkent University with scholarships from Fulbright and Bilkent University.

Continuing her professional development at the international level, she attended the “Academic Management and Teacher Training” program at Plymouth Marjon University (University of St. Mark and St John), the “Trainer Training” program at Bilkent University, and the “Master Trainer Training” program at Pearson Academy. In addition, she has taken part in numerous national and international professional development programs as both a participant and a trainer.

Within the International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma Program, she completed training in English A and English B and taught these courses. She has also served as a trainer in the DELTA, COTE, and ICELT certificate and diploma programs offered by University of Cambridge. Furthermore, she contributed to teacher education through the hybrid Teacher Development Interactive program conducted in collaboration with Pearson and Hunter College (CUNY).

In addition to her work as a lecturer at various universities, she has undertaken a range of academic and administrative responsibilities, including leadership, training, and founding directorship roles. She has led and contributed to numerous initiatives in teacher education, teaching and learning, academic management, and leadership development. Alongside presenting her research and conducting workshops at national and international conferences, she has actively participated in projects, training programs, and social responsibility initiatives carried out in collaboration with schools and universities, non-governmental organizations, Istanbul Development Agency, and local government bodies.

As part of accreditation and quality assurance efforts, she completed the Reviewer and Advanced Reviewer training programs of the Association for Language Education, Evaluation and Accreditation (DEDAK).

Since 2023, she has been serving as the Director of the School of English Language at TED University, where she continues her work in academic quality, teacher development, and institutional education policies.
