Catalog Description

Course Objectives
The aim of this course is to raise students’ awareness of sustainable development, develop their knowledge of and skills in education for sustainable development by referring to the global goals, develop basic competences to integrate and practice related concepts in English language teaching, provide them with opportunities to suggest ideas and solutions for global issues related to education for sustainable development and English language teaching.
Course Learning Outcomes
Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:
- identify key issues and terms in sustainable development,
- explain the concept of education for sustainable development,
- discuss why sustainability should be integrated into English language teaching,
- plan lessons incorporating sustainability in the teaching of English,
- evaluate teaching and learning materials focusing on sustainability,
- design educational tools to assess the learning of language and sustainability by learners.
