Develop a critical awareness of audience psychology, ethical framing, and visual narratives. By the end of the course, students will be equipped not only with the tools of clarity, but with the imagination to disrupt, challenge, and reframe what “designing information” means.
Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:
1. Analyze existing visual information systems,
2. Apply principles of visual hierarchy, clarity, and accessibility in complex layouts,
3. Design data-driven graphics,
4. Develop speculative and conceptual projects involving fictional systems and spaces,
5. Reflect on the boundaries of user-centered design.
