Magnetic circuits. Transformers. Electromechanical energy conversion principles. Direct current machines and generators. Principles of alternating current machine operation. Synchronous machines and generators. Induction machines. Single phase machines. Special machines.
Course Objectives

This course aims to introduce the fundamentals of electromechanical energy conversion.

Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:
(1) Recognize magnetic circuits,
(2) Describe and use transformers,
(3) Define electromechanical energy conversion principles,
(4) Recognize and use direct current machines and generators,
(5) Describe principles of alternating current machine operation,
(6) Recognize and use synchronous machines and generators, induction machines, single-phase machines.
