Catalog Description
The European Union’s (EU) law and legal order. Sources of community law: the treaties, derived law, international law. Relationship of Community Law to national law. Law making process in EU. The limits of EU law. EU citizenship. Social and economic regulations.
Course Objectives
The aim of this course is to familiarize the students with the scope of European Union law and legal order.
Course Learning Outcomes
Upon succesful completion of this course, a student will be able to
1. Examine the EU’s various treaties and agreements
2. Compare acts of the EU member states
3. Describe EU acts
4. Analyze and evaluate European constitutionalism
5. Enumerate agreements with third countries
6. Portray law and its connected problems within a political and socio-economic background
7. Apply a constructivist approach and reveal that law is a social construct
