Catalog Description
The concept of gender, the main ideas regarding this concept in history, literature, and philosophy. Analysis of texts questioning the relationships of women with culture and society as well as examples of gender inequality in domains such as media and law.
Course Objectives

The main objectives of the course are to familiarize students with the main ideas regarding the social construction of gender in a variety of disciplinary perspectives, and to provide them with the skills to understand and engage with central debates in the field of Women's and Gender Studies.

1. Comprehend and participate in central debates in the field of Women's and Gender Studies.

2. Apply a variety of methods of analysing gender in society, drawing upon both primary and secondary sources.
