Catalog Description
The concept of gender, the main ideas regarding this concept in history, literature, and philosophy. Analysis of texts questioning the relationships of women with culture and society as well as examples of gender inequality in domains such as media and law.
Course Objectives

The main objective of this course is to familiarize students with the main ideas regarding the social construction of gender from various disciplinary perspectives. The course also enables students practice skills for understanding and engaging with central debates in the field of women's and gender studies.

Course Learning Outcomes

Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:

1.Participate in central debates in the field of gender studies,

2.Employ various methods to analyze gender issues in society, drawing upon both primary and secondary sources,

3.Apply concepts and theories of gender studies to current and historical events,

4.Analyze gender inequality in media, law and selected literary texts.
