She holds a B.A. and an M.A. in Sociology and Social Policy from Middle East Technical University (METU), and earned her PhD from the Department of Political Science and Public Administration at the same institution. Her research focuses on women’s and feminist movements in Türkiye and across the world; women’s and youth’s social, cultural, and political participation; international law and mechanisms to protect civil, political, and cultural rights; gender equality policies; political theory and new social movements.

Her professional experience spans civil society organisations (CSOs), international organisations, EU-funded projects, and European Union technical assistance programmes. She has worked with the Community Volunteers Foundation, the Southeastern Anatolia Project Regional Development Administration (GAP), UNFPA, the Association for the Development of Civil Society (STGM), as well as the European Union’s Sivil Düşün (Think Civil) Programme and the EU Technical Assistance for Civil Society Organisations Project (EU TACSO 3) of the European Commission.

She has extensive experience in designing and implementing capacity-building programmes for CSOs, including training on rights-based approaches and gender mainstreaming. In addition, she has extensive experience on policy development and design/implementation of flexible modalities supporting grassroots organisations as well as monitoring conducive legal environment for CSOs. In recent years, she has authored country analysis reports for Türkiye in line with the DG ENEST Guidelines for EU Support to Civil Society in the Enlargement Region, providing a comprehensive assessment of the legal and financial environment for civil society, CSO–public sector cooperation, and CSOs’ organisational capacities.
