Aclan Acar

Aclan Acar graduated from TED Ankara College in 1973. He earned his undergraduate degree in Business Administration and Accounting from Ankara Academy of Economic and Commercial Sciences and completed his postgraduate studies in Banking and Insurance at the same faculty. He also pursued graduate studies in Economics at Vanderbilt University, USA (1985–1986).

Acar began his career at Halk Bank in 1974 and continued at the Central Bank of the Republic of Turkey (1978–1990), working in various departments. In September 1990, he joined Doğuş Group, starting as Assistant General Manager at Garanti Bank. Between 1994–1996, he served as General Manager of Bank Ekspres, which was later acquired by Doğuş Group. Following the acquisition of Osmanlı Bankası in June 1996, he was appointed General Manager of the Bank.

Since April 2000, he has served on the Board of Directors and Executive Committee of Doğuş Holding A.Ş., and in 2001, he became Chairman of the Board at Tansaş. Between 2002–2006, he chaired Garanti Sigorta A.Ş. and Garanti Emeklilik A.Ş. From February 2006 to March 2018, he served as Chairman of Doğuş Otomotiv Servis Ticaret A.Ş. and Doğuş Oto Pazarlama A.Ş. In March 2018, he was appointed Chairman and CEO of Doğuş Media Group, leaving the group in December 2018.

Acar served as a Board Member of Türk Telekom (March 2019–March 2022) and established his own consulting company in 2019. He currently serves as a board member at Nuh Çimento, Panora GYO, Lider Faktoring, and Denge Varlık, and as a consultant at Global Exchange A.Ş. He also served as Board Member at QUA Granit A.Ş. (2022–2024) and was an independent Board Member at Tüpraş A.Ş. (March 2002–April 2005). He is an active member of the boards of trustees of TED University and TED Istanbul College.

Acar has contributed to seminars both in Turkey and internationally and authored numerous articles and research papers, including:

He has also published his first book, “Just in Time – Transformation Management in the Light of My Experiences,” in 2020.

Born in 1954 in Ankara, Aclan Acar is married and has one child.
