Burak Özdamar
Burak Özdamar received his bachelor's degree in 2010 from the Department of Physics at Middle East Technical University (METU). He completed his master's degree in Atomic and Molecular Physics while working as a research assistant responsible for computer and network systems in the same department.
After receiving his PhD in Physics and Chemistry of Materials from the University of Strasbourg with a scholarship from the French Ministry of Higher Education and Research, he completed his first post-doc at the Department of Materials Science and Engineering at Izmir Institute of Technology (IZTECH) via a TÜBİTAK-ARDEB scientific project. He worked as a postdoctoral researcher on a high-budget scientific project carried out in partnership with Paris-Saclay University and Genopole, an innovation center for biotechnological advancement. During this period, he mentored many master's and doctoral students, introducing them to scientific programming and molecular simulation methods.
His general research interest is focused on understanding the electronic, structural, and thermal properties of low-dimensional nanostructures using computational first-principles (ab initio) methods. He has participated in numerous national and international conferences, workshops and tutorials and has published a book chapter and articles in internationally renowned journals in this field.
