He graduated from Hacettepe University, Department of Information and Document Management. He completed his internship at Mantis Software Consulting company. In 2014, he worked part-time at Bilkent University Library. He graduated from Hacettepe University, Department of Information and Document Management with a Master's degree (with thesis) in 2025.

In 2015, he studied at The Hague University of Applied Sciences in the Netherlands for a semester within the Erasmus program.

Haydar Tekin has been working at TED University Ayşa Ilıcak Library since October 2017.
