TEDU hosted MUN Education and Development Conference 2021

TEDU hosted the first Model United Nations Education and Development Conference (MUN) 2021.

The conference lasted two days with the participation of 270 high school students and 80 university students from various provinces of Turkey and TEDU will also be hosting the second conference to be held in the first quarter of 2022 which will be more extensive.

The conference was held by TEDUMUN, an association established within TED University, which is one of the earliest MUN associations. The participants sought solutions for global issues in the conference as representatives assigned by the countries under several committees similar to the way it is held in the real United Nations.

TED University Acting Rector Prof. Dr. İhsan Sabuncuoğlu delivered a speech at the closing ceremony of the conference and stated that “We are very pleased to see hundreds of students having arrived at our university to seek solutions for the problems of the world, we are grateful to you. You, the members of generation Z, will be the ones who will shape the future; you will create the new world. As TED University, we have officially accepted by unanimous vote in October to adhere to the UN 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development Goals and since then our university has been implementing its educational and research activities in line with the 17 items of the UN 2030 Sustainable Development Goals.
