Catalog Description
Basics of curriculum development in education and program types (formal, informal, non-formal, extra and hidden curriculum concepts). Cognitive, affective and psychomotor domain learning and hidden curriculum. School as a ritual place. School ceremonies as extracurricular activities at school. Importance and management of social, cultural, sports and artistic activities at school. In values education the place and importance of the hidden curriculum. Non-program activities (commemoration, celebration, meeting, graduation etc.) in terms of values education.
Course Objectives
The aim of this course is to provide candidate teachers with learning opportunities (formal / informal, applied, neglected, extra and hidden curriculum, etc.) to develop awareness, skills and understanding of the types of curriculum available in terms of different factors (e.g. cognitive and emotional domain learning, teaching, school mode), analyzing the reflections of the intensive current teaching-learning process, social, cultural, sports and art works etc.) and designing the learning and teaching process using the hidden program.
