Catalog Description
Definition of the cognitive skills assessed by achievement tests. Definition of the affective characteristics assessed by attitudinal measurement. Preparation of a test plan. Development of achievement test or attitudinal questionnaires. Analysis of the item level data obtained on achievement and attitude tests.
Course Objectives
The aim of this course is to provide students with information about why psychological tests are constructed, what they measure, what the necessary steps involved in test construction are, how validity and reliability of the interpretations obtained from test are increased.

- explain the differences among the concepts such as test, measurement, and evaluation,
- describe cognitive skills and affective characteristics measured by tests,
- develop a variety of item formats,
- apply educational and/or psychological tests to situations appropriately,

- apply basic statistical methods on test and item scores,
- interpret scores obtained on a test.
