Catalog Description
Use of advanced information search techniques. Evaluation of trustworthiness of information. Selection of the right information sources. Safe information communities. Cultural infrastructure of media convergence. New media literacy skills. Overview of theoretical background on traditional media and new media. Discussions on the potential of new media. Advanced web research tools and techniques.
Course Objectives

This course aims to help students to develop basic to advanced new media literacy skills. The content of the course is designed considering recent arguments such as fake news, AI-made multimedia, trustworthiness of information, and sources of information. Consequently, students are going to be competent with interacting and dealing with the information pollution ex post of new media.
