Catalog Description
The importance, principles and components of educational program for 0- 36 months. Main components, principles, objectives, indicators, settings, activities, forms, plans (monthly education plan, daily schedule and activity plan), implementations and assessment of early childhood program applied for 0-36 months. Applied practices of in-class activities related with infancy program. Curriculum models and approaches in infant education. Design, development, and assessment of 0-36 months curriculum.
Course Objectives

This course aims at providing the students the ability of designing and implementing curriculums for infants that is developmentally and culturally appropriate, giving them a knowledge in infancy program in Turkey, different approaches and models.

Course Learning Outcomes

Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:

 

  1. discuss principles and characteristics of infancy curriculum,
  2. compare the curricular approaches and models in infancy,
  3. develop strategies and tools for meeting the needs of diverse children in the classroom, 
  4. design plans that consider the individual differences among infants,
  5. generate an infancy curriculum framework that fosters growth of all children.
