Catalog Description
History of preschool education in different countries. Early childhood education prevalence ratio, types of institutions, types of programs, and educational environments across nations. Policy of family participation and integration of children with special needs in different countries. Pre-school teacher training system and pre-school teacher as a profession in different countries.
Course Objectives

The aim of this course is to equip pre-service early childhood educators with the knowledge about different early childhood education systems, models, institutions and programs around the world and develop the skills to make research on recent studies in early childhood education in different countries.

Course Learning Outcomes

Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:

 

  1. define the key components to compare early childhood education across nations,
  2. recognize history, prevalence, types of institutions, types of programs, family participation and educational environments of early childhood education in different countries,
  3. examine the requirements and working conditions of the preschool teaching profession in different countries,
  4. compare early childhood education across nations based on key components,
  5. investigate the recent research on early childhood education conducted in different countries.
