Catalog Description
Definition of STEM components. Importance of STEM education in primary school. Tools and materials used for STEM education. STEM activity plans and STEM environments appropriate for young children. Evaluation of STEM projects developed for children.
Course Objectives

The aim of this course is to equip undergraduate primary school students with the knowledge of STEM approach and implementations of STEM projects in primary school.

  1. identify STEM approach in primary school education,
  2. interpret engineering skills and technology integration in primary school education,
  3. examine appropriate tools, materials and environment to plan for a STEM activity,
  4. design STEM projects appropriate for primary school,
  5. evaluate STEM projects in terms of age and developmental appropriateness.
