Catalog Description
The importance of technology-assisted mathematics instruction in primary education. Technology tools and resources used in mathematics education. Web-based software, dynamic software, graphic tools, simulations and calculators. Primary school mathematics teaching activities using technology tools and resources.
Course Objectives

This course aims to enable students to see the potential of technology-assisted mathematics instruction in primary education and to allow them to practice designing technology-assisted activities.

Course Learning Outcomes

Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:

 

  1. discuss the integration of technology in mathematics learning and teaching,
  2. use tools and resources in designing, delivering, and assessing technology-assisted instruction in the primary mathematics curriculum,
  3. develop exemplary activities by using one of the software covered in the course,
  4. discuss the issues of classroom management in technology enhanced lessons,
  5. evaluate current research related to the use of technology for instruction in the mathematics classrooms.
