Course Objectives

This course portrays current trends in the field ELT. It introduces well-known professional learning networks. The course also aims to introduce different types of professional development, as well as the needs and barriers of language teachers in relation to their professional development. Within the scope of the course, the policies and impact of professional development will be covered and students will increase their awareness as to participation in professional learning networks and organizations.

  2. identify needs and barriers of language teachers regarding their professional development,
  3. reflect on the recent advances and research in the English Language teaching,
