Catalog Description
Definition and types of project. Theoretical framework of project-based learning. Benefits and limitations of project-based learning. Implementation phases of project-based learning. Roles of learner and teacher in project-based learning. Evaluation of project-based learning. Similarities and differences between project-based learning and problem- based learning approaches. Implementation examples of project-based learning. Development of a project-based learning proposal in mathematics lessons.
Course Objectives

The aim of this course is to provide students with a deep understanding of theoretical framework, benefits and limitations of project-based learning. In addition to this, students will gain information about implementation and evaluation phases of project-based learning in mathematics education. Students will be actively involved in developing a project-based learning proposal.

  3. distinguish the relationship between project-based learning and problem-based learning,

  5. examine the project-based learning examples in mathematics teaching,
  6. interpret the evaluation process of project-based learning in mathematics classes,
  7. prepare project-based learning proposal regarding mathematics teaching.
