Course Objectives

The goal of this course is to familiarise the students with the main concepts in ergonomics and how to integrate ergonomic principles into product design. The students will be introduced to the concepts and terminology of user-product interaction, as well as research tools and methods, which will help them develop perspectives and gain skills to practice user-centred design.

Course Learning Outcomes

Upon successful completion of the course, the students will:

  1. Explain the relationship between properties of products/systems and users’ physical/cognitive capabilities and limitations.
  2. Classify diverse ergonomics applications.
  3. Apply user research methods which are relevant in user-centred design process.
  4. Plan research protocols for diverse design cases.
