Catalog Description
The characteristics of floating point arithmetic. Error analysis. Approximation of roots of equations. Interpolation. Numerical differential integration. Solution of linear and non-linear equations. Numerical solution of differential equations.
Course Objectives
The objective of this course is to introduce the concepts of numerical analysis, provide knowledge of how to use numerical analysis methods from a computer engineering perspective and demonstrate how to mathematically model a problem to solve it using numerical analysis techniques.
