Catalog Description
Problematics of dwelling. Conceptions related to the environment and the city. How buildings are related to their context. Creative/textual capacities of the greater environment, society, politics and art.
Course Objectives
The course aims to introduce students with theories and approaches about architectural culture in history and at present, via the problematics of being and dwelling. The course will incite discussions on conventional, architectural, and critical approaches to dwelling; with emphasis to current developments in the globe which make man think about the limits and limitations of dwelling circumstances.
Course Learning Outcomes
Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to
1) Be aware of the role of approaches to understanding different ways of dwelling,
2) Be equipped with intellectual background to understand global problematics of habitation and architectural practice,
3) Develop senses about the ethics of critical culture of architecture.
