The course will provide an overview of ethical issues counselors might face with throughout their professional life and learn about their legal responsibilities.
Students will use MS Office applications to work on their homework and projects.
Students will be able to:
1. Demonstrate knowledge of basic concepts, ethical principles and legal issues about ethics in guidance and counseling
2. Identify the relationship between personal/cultural values, beliefs and ethical actions as professionals
3. Recognize how racism, sexism, ageism, heterosexism, and other forms of stereotyping are ethical issues
4. Establish ethical and professional decision making process in guidance and counseling
5. Argue the potential ethical dilemmas that school counselors experience
