The goal of this course is to give a survey of astronomy, in general, that includes the history of astronomy, the nature of planetary systems (in particular, the solar system of our own), nature and evolution of stars, galaxies, and the universe.
On successful completion of this module, students will be able to:
1.Comprehend basic timeline of events in history of astronomy,
2.Express a general perspective of the universe,
3.Paraphrase knowledge of objects in the observable sky, (Sun, Moon, planets, comets etc.)
4.Demonstrate the fundamental physics that governs the objects in the sky, (conceptually).
5.Analyze the underlying dynamics behind the objects in the universe,
6.Evaluate the observable universe and/or cosmos from local observations to the large-scale universe models.
