Catalog Description
History. Programming languages for AI. Introduction to Lisp programming. Problem solving with computers. Search strategies, game playing. Knowledge and reasoning. Knowledge representation. First-order logic, inference. Learning, inductive and statistical learning methods, Robotics systems.
Course Objectives

The objective of this course is to introduce students to the fundamental concepts of artificial intelligence and help them explain how to use these concepts in solving problems.

Course Learning Outcomes

Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:

  1. Recognize AI methodologies in various domains,
  2. Apply AI methods to development of rational agents running in task environments, 
  3. Describe how various problems can be solved via search strategies,
  4. Analyze algorithms used for game playing,
  5. Use propositional and first-order logic for developing intelligent agent,
  6. Classify basic methods of learning from observations that agents use to increase their performances.
