The aim of Basics of Three Dimensional Design is to develop students' thinking processes in three dimension, compositional sensitivities, and handicrafts through various exercises during the semester. With each exercise, students are encouraged to express themselves as designers. The course is supported by extracurricular activities to raise students’ awareness of design in everyday life.
1. use the basic design terminology of three-dimensional design in a coherent and persuasive way by discussing it on their own work or on the work of his/her peers;
2. employ problem solving and idea development skills to choose correct methodology for the creation of three dimensional form solutions for design problems;
3. employ sketching and modeling skills for project realizations;
4. demonstrate the craftsmanship and hand skills required to work with different materials such as paper, cardboard, wire, wood;
5. apply the basic construction techniques to produce structurally robust three-dimensional works;
6. use simple hand tools with ease while creating three-dimensional works.
