The course aims to teach the application of industrial engineering and operations research methods in healthcare delivery, medical decision making, and public health planning.
Course Learning Outcomes
Upon succesful completion of this course, a student will be able to
1. Describe and interpret the history, milestones and trends within healthcare IE/OR (B2,j)
2. Formulate and solve common healthcare IE/OR problems in the areas of healthcare delivery, medical decision making, and public health (B5,c)
3. Generate a project idea, model and solve the project problem to improve current practices in healthcare by the IE/OR methods (B5,h)
4. Critically review and discuss healthcare IE/OR literature (B6,i)
