1. review the strategies to prepare kindergartners for elementary school
2. outline the sociocultural and environmental factors on school readiness
3. analyze the individual and developmental differences among kindergartners and elementary school children
4. use appropriate assessment tools and techniques to evaluate young children’s readiness for elementary school 
5. propose practical strategies to teachers for supporting children through school transitions
