Catalog Description
Principles of engineering drawing.Principles of computer aided technical drawing. Design 3D parts with solid modeling, dimensioning and tolerancing. Sectioning and multi-view projections. Assembly modelling and assembling parts. Creating explode view and rendering of assembly drawing. Introduction to animation with Solidworks.
Course Objectives

This course aims to enable students gain the skill to interpret and assess an engineering drawing, followed by their attempt to create 3D components based on the provided sketches. Subsequently, the course enables students to construct intricate assemblies and generate the necessary drawings for producing the components. The utilization of explode view technique and Solidworks animation will further enhance students’ ability to visualize and proficiently present their designs.

Course Learning Outcomes

Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:

  1. Explain principles of engineering drawings and computer aided technical drawing,
  2. Perform 2D and 3D design of parts with computer software,
  3. Prepare engineering drawings according to different reporting systems,
  4. Apply assembly and motion study analysis.
