Catalog Description

Basic processes in human memory. Topics include interference theory, the short-term/long term memory distinction, semantic memory, working memory, sensory memory, autobiographical memory, amnesia, and implicit memory.

Course Objectives

How movies such as Memento, Rainman, Cast Away help us to understand memory processes. Topics are working memory, long lasting memories, recognition memory, autobiographical memory, traumatic memories, amnesia, and dementia. Discussion of each topic in line with a related movie.
