Catalog Description
The definition of mental health and related concepts; mental health in theories of psychology, factors effecting mental health at schools, mental health at schools and humanistic perspective of education, mental health at schools according to developmental stages; cognitive and affective learning and their relation with mental health.
Course Objectives

This course aims to provide a basic framework for the mental health works at school settings.

Course Learning Outcomes

By the end of this course, students will be able to:

1. Evaluate the meaning of mental health as well as age-appropriate behaviors of students based on related developmental stage.

2. Recognize students in need of help and make necessary referrals.

3. Explain the concept and the scope of the school climate.

4. Show that she/he has knowledge on ensuring the appropriate/ideal school climate at the school,

5. Link school climate and mental health and contribute to the organization of studies to support the social, emotional, psychological and academic development of students.
