Selçuk Pehlivanoğlu was born in Ankara in 1963 and graduated from TED Ankara College in 1981. He completed his studies in Civil Engineering at Middle East Technical University (METU) and worked as a civil engineer in Germany for a period. He founded Sepe Construction, leading numerous projects.
In 1993, he established the Motherland Party Volunteers Group and served as its Chairman. In 1997, he was appointed Vice President of Organization, and in 1998, he was elected as a member of the Central Executive Committee (MKYK). Between 1999 and 2001, he served as Deputy Chairman and Head of Auxiliary Organizations, and in 2002, he held the roles of Vice President, Head of Electoral Affairs, and Head of Volunteers Group.
Since 2003, Pehlivanoğlu has served as President of the Turkish Education Association (TED), and since 2012, he has been Chairman of the Board of Trustees at TED University.
He is married and a father of two children.
