TED University served as the venue for the Civil Voices Festival, which was organized by the Civil Society Development Center with the intention of uniting people who wish to beautify, improve, and democratize the globe. We hosted more than two hundred non-governmental organizations from all over Turkey at our university as part of the event.

Playgrounds, performance shows and the works of organizations were exhibited in the Festival, with the motto of “Since we want change, we must be stronger!”  While non-governmental organizations from various cities in Turkey that work in many aspects of rights participated in workshops, panels, plays, film screenings, and other performances over the course of two days.

Ambassador Meyer-Landrut, Head of the European Union Delegation to Turkey, who attended the opening event, said, “It is very pleasing to observe the diversity of Anatolia and the birth of civilizations. They have different textures. We see the cultural heritage and different textures of Turkey and Anatolia in the reflection of the diversity of non-governmental organizations.”

Yakup Levent Korkut, CSDC Chairman of the Board, stated that they came together to increase the voice of non-governmental organizations and added, “We know that the street is also the focal point of the public space. It is very important to be on the street, to exercise your freedom of expression here. Everyone should be on the street equally and fairly, without exception.”
